About ShineCRM

Built by someone who ran the trade.

I ran the trade.

I'm Sean. For years I ran Winning Window Cleaning here in Victoria, British Columbia. Windows, gutters, exterior work, real customers, real seasons, real trucks that had to be somewhere at 9 AM.

The software was the hardest part of the job.

The frustrating part was never the work. It was everything around the work. I paid for the CRMs everyone recommends, and I still ended up building little custom tools on the side just to run my own company efficiently, because nothing on the market fit the way an exterior cleaning business actually quotes, schedules, and gets paid.

When you find yourself writing your own tools to patch the product you're already paying for, the product has failed you.

My communication lived everywhere.

A customer would text my cell, email the business address, and call me while I was up a ladder. Three conversations, three places, and none of them knew about the others. Information was scattered everywhere, and I wanted every conversation consolidated onto one surface with the customer's history attached.

That frustration is why ShineCRM has a unified inbox. Calls, texts, and email, one thread per customer, with recordings and summaries for the calls you take mid-job.

Recurring work had no system at all.

Recurring customers are the lifeblood of this trade. Quarterly window cleans, annual gutters, lighting that comes back every season. And there was no good system on the market for managing them. Everything treated recurring work like a reminder you set for yourself.

So I decided to build my own. In ShineCRM, recurring services are a first-class part of the product: the plan carries its own pricing, the next visit is always on the calendar, and the customer never falls through the cracks between seasons.

And the markup thing still bothers me.

"I ran a window cleaning company for years. Watching the CRM I paid for tack a markup onto Stripe payments I was already paying Stripe for was insulting. They added nothing. Sometimes they made it worse. We built ShineCRM so nobody else has to put up with that."

ShineCRM is the tool I kept trying to duct-tape together.

Built only for exterior cleaning. Priced by the pane and the square foot. Every conversation in one inbox. Recurring work that books itself. Payments without a middleman's cut. If you run this trade, it was built for you, by someone who stood where you stand.
